Merchant's Room : Flotsam

Marking the change in season into Autumn, we’re delighted to welcome, to our Merchant’s Room Community Art Gallery for the first time, Finnish artist The Bonemaiden - Riikka Palonen - Kalman impi whose work magnificently reflects her immersion in the natural world and the cycles within it.

Whether capturing the profound peace of the forest in chalk sketches or the majesty of the sunrise over the horizon in colours worthy of a medieval manuscript, Riikka’s depictions of the creatures and spirits who inhabit the land and sea almost leap out of the frame.

Her “Flotsam” exhibition here is free to see (with works for sale) and runs (appropriately !) until the beginning of November as the nights draw in between Michaelmas and Samhain.
