There’s always plenty of fish in the sea. Or are there?

Sustainability has become more and more important to the fishing industry over time. In this session, students investigate how improved fishing techniques and technology have improved our ability to catch fish but bring their own problems in terms of overfishing and bycatch. Through experiments and object handling, students will reflect on these changes; discuss the ways that the fishing industry is regulated; and consider how we can all help to ensure that our oceans remain biodiverse.
